摘要：A magnetic disk device includes an arm disposed at a distance from a magneticdisk surface, a magnetic head support having a first end associated with the arm andhaving a second end extended toward the magnetic disk surface, a magnetic headprovided on the second end of the magnetic head support, and an actuator for rotatingthe arm so as to cause the magnetic head to move toward or away from the magneticdisk surface. The magnetic head support has rigidity in a direction parallel to themagnetic disk surface and flexibility in a direction non-parallel to the magnetic disksurface over an area extending from the first end to the second end of the magnetichead support, and includes a gas pressure generating structure integral with a portion ofthe magnetic head support facing the magnetic disk surface for generating a gaspressure between the magnetic head support and the magnetic disk surface due torelative movement between the magnetic head support and the magnetic disk surface.
