My country and I

No Country, Why Home！

For more than one hundred years, we Chinese lived a completely shamed life without any dignity or self-respect. But we never gave up fighting for our freedom and independence and we had made it. And we know that: No country, Why home.

We must cherish this hard-won opportunity to construct our motherland to make it the strongest. And we have the obligation. Maybe we cannot realize it in ten years or fifty years, or even 100 years, but let us begin! And we have a strong belief that one day in the not far future, we will achieve that. To start with this, we must learn to change!

The world is very different now. But we still dare not to forget that we are the heirs of the revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friends and foes alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Chinese. And we will lead the torch and pledge that: Let every other nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship to eliminate any enemy to assure our liberty and independence. And let our foes remember that, in the past, those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of tiger ended up inside.

However, today we are still not strong enough. We need to change! And we will rest

the final success of our future. For the foundation of our Republic, many Chinese had been summoned to fight. And many outstanding sons and daughters of the Republic sacrificed all they had, even their valuable lives. They are living in our heart forever!

And now the trumpet summons us again---not to battle, though we prepare to battle---but a call to confront with our responsibilities and finish them, to burden a long twilight struggle to make our motherland the strongest!

And so, my dear friends, ask not what your country can for you, but ask what you can do for your country!

And we believe that, the energy, the faith and the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it. And the glow from that fire can truly light the world!

My dear friends, the trumpet summons us again now! Let us remember that: No Country Why Home! And let us answer the call, to explore the stars, conquer the deserts, eradicate the diseases, taps the ocean depths, and to bring our motherland a better future
