摘要：The invention relates to the controlling of the charging of a vehicle battery by agenerator. The generator also supplies a vehicle electric system and an additionalconsumer with electrical power. The additional consumer is, however, only supplied withelectrical power when the power requirements of the vehicle electrical system arecovered. The supply of the additional consumer and the charging of the vehicle batteryare controlled as follows: When the power requirements of the additional consumer arenot completely covered, when a charging current, which flows from the generator andinto the vehicle battery, is greater than a limit value, and when the generator outputadditionally permits the supply of the additional consumer, the additional consumer issupplied with power by the generator and the charging current is set so that it is lessthan the maximum possible charging current during the same generator output andsame power requirements of the vehicle electric system.
