摘要：An insulated terminal (10) has an insulating hollow housing (12), through which ametal electrical connector (14) extends. The electrical connector (14) has a first part (30)coupled to a second, lower part (32) by way of a substantially cylindrical intermediate
connection region (34). A through bore (36) extends through the connection region (34)for the receipt of a stripped wire end. The terminal (10) is provided with a substantiallycylindrical insulating cover (40) cooperating with the hollow housing (12). An internalscrew thread of a bore (42) of the cover engages with an external screw thread on thefirst part (30) so that rotation of the cover (40) moves the cover (40) longitudinallybetween a first, inserted position and a second, withdrawn position. In the first, insertedposition, the connection region (34) is insulated. When the cover (40) is withdrawn to itssecond position, the connection region (34) becomes accessible by way of a slot (50)formed in the housing (12). The slot (50) has the form of an inverted T. Its upright has awidth equal to the diameter of the bore (36) to allow the passage of a wire for insertionin the bore 36. The base of the T slot 50 is wider and allows access to a spade terminal tobe engaged around the connector.
