摘要: On command or it maintains supraconductives properties of superconductingcompounds by external active electrochemical response. The superconducting
compound forms an electrode (12) in the electrochemical cell (10). Against an electrode(14) and the electrode superconducting compound (12) are in contact with an electrolyte(16) and a potential is applied between the electrode against (14) and the
superconducting electrode (12). The cell is operated at a temperature near the intendedtemperature of transition of the superconducting material. The potential appliedbetween the electrodes is selected so as to control a property such as the transitiontemperature. In a preferred embodiment, a superconducting material such as
Ba2YCu3O7-x serves as the anode (12) and against an electrode (14), such as a referenceelectrode of mercury oxide mercury serves as a cathode. Ozone and
trifluoronitrosomethane are suitable electrolyte containing oxygen. In anotherembodiment, a superconducting cuprate serves as the anode and the electrolytecontains copper.
